Is there really a problem with being clingy?

I mean, I’m a clingy bastard. There is nothing that I would enjoy more than to constantly be with and cuddling my partner. It’s one of the things that makes me happy, and it also is the time where I feel the most comfort. Is it really so bad? Does it not just show your partner exactly how you feel about them and how important they are to you? I don’t understand why people could not want someone who is clingy.

I understand that some people like their space, but if you’re in a committed relationship with someone, cuddling and being close is something that always comes with it. Is it bad to be close for too long? I don’t see any problems with it. One former partner of mine hated to be hugged or kissed when we woke up in the morning. Is this not the time when you would normally embrace your partner because it’s a brand new day with the person you love? I just don’t understand.
